The theme for the event is ‘Challenges, Changes and Opportunities in the Irish Uplands’. On the day, we will present the report on new research commissioned by IUF with funding from the Heritage Council and the Dept. of Community, Rural & Gaeltacht Affairs. The study focused on three areas: the North Sligo / North Leitrim uplands, the Comeragh Mountains in Co. Waterford and the Twelve Bens and Benchoonas of north-west Connemara. There will also be discussion of current issues in other upland areas and future priorities for IUF.
